8 yr old Beagle losing lots of hair

Hi
My neutered male 8 yr. old beagle is losing lots of hair suddenly. He takes Thyroid replacement, eats well, normal weight, activity level and no other changes. It comes out in handfuls. I cannot see the vet until next week. He does not seem to be bothered by the hair loss but I wondered if there was something I could try before seeing the vet besides constant vacuming.

He may also have hyperadrenocorticism, or his hypothyroid may not be fully controlled. I am glad that you have a vet visit next week. Have the blood work performed.
