Lumps in Basenji

by princess_alana2004, Aug 26, 2007 03:10PM
My 9 yr old Basenji has 3-4 of what I would call soft cysts. 2 on his rib cage. One under his throat. One on the chest area. They don't seem to be painful, eating, drinking, and energy level haven't changed. Is there a way to tell if they are anything serious(like cancer) without seeing a vet?

Please have your veterinarian perform a diagnostic test called a fine needle aspirate on some of these masses.  This will ease your piece of mind if they are benign.  They sound as if they are lipoma's or fatty tumors, but only cytoloy or biopsy would be definitive.
