Vomiting

by missymorgan, Sep 28, 2007 10:45AM
My cat usually throws up after eating and it appears that she isn't chewing her food.  Sometimes it is liquidy but mostly moist unchewed food.  It does not appear to be hairballs.  What should I be looking for and what is a good remedy.

The most common causes of chronic vomiting in the cat are IBD or IBS (inflammatory bowel disease or syndrome), food allergies, and hyperthyroidism.  Kidney or Liver disease can also cause this problem.  Causes of acute vomiting are: foreign bodies, toxins, intestinal parasites and infectious causes. There are also numerous uncommon causes.  Since your cat usually vomits after eating this is a chronic problem.  And yes, there are no easy remedies, you should visit your vet for this problem.
