B12 and hunger relief

Dear Dr. Pitts,

I've been a compulsive overeater and binge eater all of my life (now 62).  Since 1999, with the help of a dietician, I'm at goal weight.

All of my life, also, when taking a supplement containing B12  insatiable hunger plagues me.  Have you any idea about this?  Might there be a deficiency and more is needed?  Is this a normal reaction?

Congratulations on getting to and staying in your goal weight for 9 years!

As I am a psychologist, I do not feel I can answer your question on B12.  A medical doctor or homeopathic doctor can best address your question.

What I do know about B12 is prior to psychotropic medications (e.g., antidepressants) even today, B12 shots and pills were given for depression to increase energy.  The B vitamins get depleted with stress and need to be replenished.
