Dear Tessy2,
I would contact your insurance company directly and ask for the eating disorder treatment programs on their panel. You could then call each of their contracted facilities. If interested in any of the programs, have the treatment program intake department run an insurance verification to determine your financial responsibility.
If your insurance does not have eating disorder treatment programs contracts, I would pursue them doing a single case agreement so you can get the needed help for your daughter.
Also, when you call your insurance company, ask them if Massachusetts is governed by the parity law. If they are a parity state, this will offer much greater coverage for your daughter.

I had an eating disorder myself and the best thing my parents could have done for me was force me to go to a clinic when I was still underage. But know that your daughter is 19 and has to make her own choice. I went to the Center for Change in Utah ( I'm from IL) but there are other places all over the united states. THeres a place in Pennsylvania if I'm not mistaken. The best thing my parents did for me was hire and education consultant who found the center of change for me. Renfrew is supposed to be a very reputable place. I realize these places are expensive but this kind of treatment is so much more affective than day programs, and I'm speaking from experience. The other option is to commit her to a hospital day program or if shes willing to a hospitals psych ward to offer her an around the clock supervision environment. If you have any other questions please let me know.
