Can Paxil CR cause an ED?

I've been on some form of Paxil since I was 7. Now, I'm 18 and on 25 mg of Paxil CR. I've always noticed that I have had Obsessive Compulsive thinking. I definitely have some kind of binge-eating disorder, I've been struggling with it for years, but as I get older it gets worse.

Can Paxil contribute to obsessive compulsive thinking? or even an eating disorder?

Dear dandelioncrowns,

You are on a very low dose of paxil.  On higher doses, paxil has been known to cause increase in eating.  Speak to your psychiatrist about your concerns.

There are medications to help decrease desire to binge, decrease obsessive thinking and compulsive behavior and to help decrease associated depression and anxiety, etc.
Visit the bella vita website to learn more about binge-eating disorder.

Best,
