Dulcolax (bisacodylum) abuse

I am 36 years old and i am taking 30 tablets of Dulcolax a day. Only these talbes work. I was trying to quit fo many times by stopping to take it for a few days, byt my bowels don't work. I was trying to change laxantives to herbal ones, I was trying to eat food full od fiber, but it didn't work either :(. When I am not taking bisacodyl my stomach turns huge and very hard and I am gainig weight ther despite of eating not too much and healhy.
I read on this forum similar topic and doctor's answer saying that this is possible to quit with medical, nutricial and psychological help. I am from Poland and here we don't have specialized centers of treating bulimia and gastrologists who I went to see to didn't help. May I ask for tips (so I could talk to my doctor about this) for medical help? What kind of medicaments/drugs as sugested in that kind of problem? Maybe here in Poland we do have equals? I would like to get pregnant and I know that bisacodylum is very dangerous for a baby, so I need to quit to make my dream come true. And that is the reason why I am desperately looking for help. Pleas help me.

Since you are going to speak to a doctor, ask your him/her how you can best get off laxatives.  Tell your doctor your history.  Getting off laxatives, and staying off them, is quite challenging.  Also, you may have done some physical damage to your kidneys.  Before moving forward on getting pregnant, make sure your body is stable and you are free from laxatives for a few months.  Best, Dr Patricia Pitts, PhD  The Bella Vita  Los Angeles, CA
