Swollen tongue?!!

Hi, I had pretty serious bulimia for two years, in that time i noticed some health issues, one of which was a swollen tongue (very very uncomfortable!). I have been recovered for the past five months and have not involved myself vomiting within that time. The thing is that my tongue (even though noticably smaller) is still swollen. Will it go down in time? are there things i can do to help it de-swell faster? is this ab-normal? sorry for all of the questions... any help i can get would be helpful!! it's starting to really interfer with my life.
