i have a serious problem to me that i want fixed. i am an 18 year old male that weighs 125 and im tired of being skinny. ive tryed weight gainers and nothing works for me. i dont really know what would be wrong with me if anything at all. i dont eat much i kinda wait to eat untill im very hungry. for example i wake up at about 12 in the afternoon and dont eat untill about 4 or 5. but when i do eat i think im really hungry but when i try to eat i feel soo full right away not being able to finish my meal. im really starting to get tired of it. and its not like im eating a lot of food its not much at all. i just feel like if i put another bite in my mouth i will throw up. i dont know if i have a eating disorder or if its just me but if someone could help me out i would VERY much appreciate it.

You could very well have an eating disorder.  You always want to rule out a medical condition.  I would recommend you get a full physical by your physician and explain to him or her your struggle with eating and feelings of fullness.  It would also be wise to see a psychiatrist or psychotherapist who specializes in eating disorders for an evaluation.  If it's paychological, eating isses are only the symptom.  There are genetic, individual dynamics, relational, familial, cultural and spiritual elements that may need to be addressed.  You could also visit the bella vita website and take the free male survey to see if you could have an eating disorder.  While you are there, you could learn more about what eating disorders are.  Best regards, Dr Patricia Pitts  The Bella Vita Los Angeles, CA

You are not consuming enough claories period.Your ody needs to be retrained into a healthy and regular eating pattern. So get up at 10,have a large breakfast and gho back to bed.You at least should be having 3000 cals if you wanna gain weight for a male and sounds like youre having about a third of that if not less.or else see a dietitian-theyd tell you the same!X

You should go to the Dr to see if you have a thyroid issue.  At your age, you should have a much bigger appetite.  Do you exercise?  Even through exercise burns calories, it can increase your appetite and build muscle, which would be weight gain.

A good trick to gain quick weight is to eat 2 or 3 peanut butter loaded and jelly sandwiches before bed.  If youre overfull, its okay, because youll sleep well and be fine by morning!

If you have a scale at home, weight yourself today, start tonight, and weigh yourself in a week.  I am sure you will be happy w the results!
