12.5 mg of zoloft and weight gain?

I was just curious.  I started 12.5 mg of zoloft (sertraline) 10 days ago.  I didn't taper down to that or anything its just the dose my dr gave me due to my sensitivity to meds.  Since then a bad insomnia issue has gotten worse and I also notice my appetite is less but I seem to be getting a bit bigger in my tummy.  I am very very petite so I noticed it right away.  Has anyone else taken a tiny dose of zoloft like 12.5 mg and noticedweight gain? Or do you think the increase in tummy fat has to do with my on going sleep issues? Been having episodes of insomnia  for a couple of months now.  Any answers are appreciated.

Insomnia yes, weight gain...a slight possibility over a 30 month period...and only by 1kg.
Your hunger should have increased...

It says that you are 30...it could be that you're getting your "30-40 tummy".
I got mine at around 32, and it was very noticeable because I weigh a whopping 110. lol

I would go back to the doctor and tell him about the worsening insomnia.
It's obvious that the pills are not doing you much good and only adding to your problems.

You're still in the "adjustment period" of your medication, which can make symptoms worse before getting better.  You've also not been on the medication long enough for it to help you, this can take up to 4 weeks.  Loss of appetite is a side effect of Zoloft which may go away with some time.  But any time you change medication or your dosage and are concerned about something....give your prescribing doctor a quick call.  This is when they expect and need to hear from us on how we're doing.  Your doctor is always your best resource.
