150mg of Zoloft for social anxiety and panic attacks

I have been suffering of panic attacks in social places since 4 years. I have seen many psychologists and psychiatrists but i finally found the one i most got comfortable with.
He prescribed me 50mg of Zoloft for the first 4 days, then maximizing up to 100mg per day for another 4 days. After 8 days he wants me to take 150mg of Zoloft continuously. Along with Zoloft he prescribed me a half pill of Xanax every morning and another half in the evening for the first 10 days of the treatment only.
I am kind of afraid and worried to start with all this dosage.
Please i need an advice whether to start with this treatment or see another doctor.
I am 22 years old.

It is a good thing that you are apprehensive about putting so much of these chemicals in your body. I understand how challenging it is to cope with anxiety and I too have experimented with prescription medications for this reason. I'm sure you are aware of all the side effects that come alongside these drugs and that these side effects are problems in and of themselves. Do we really need more issues?! Anxiety is exhausting enough!
The truth is there is hope to NATURALLY relieve and even cure anxiety without these man-made drugs, and speaking with psych doctors is not the only method. There are naturally-grown herbs and supplements on the market that work just as well if not better than what you might find in your doctor's cabinet, because your body recognizes these herbs. The best part is you can find stress relief without the drowsiness, lethargy, numbness, weight gain, brain "spasms" and every other symptom that prescription psychotics bring on.
I can honestly tell you, after being med-free for only 6 months so far I am feeling more like myself than I have in a long time. I first tried prescription antidepressants when I was 21.
You CAN get a handle on anxiety without these drugs. How do you think our ancestors did it? Hypnotherapy is another powerful tool that I definitely recommend trying. You won't be sorry. Some clients walk out of just one session without the phobias they came in with.
If you want my advice, wean yourself off whatever drugs you are on right now and start researching these natural methods of anxiety relief. Take care of your young body and mind! It is yours for life!

I have panic disorder also and I'm also 22 years old! I was first prescribed with Zoloft as well and started with 50 mg for a couple of years it did the trick then after a stressful year of college I went up to 100mg of Zoloft long term, and half a pill of Clonazapan in the morning and half at night for 6 weeks. He had me transition by taking 75 mg of Zoloft for a couple weeks.

Every case is different. Your anxiety may be a more severe case and you need to be on a higher dosage quicker. Medication can always be adjusted. If you want...try taking the 100mg daily along with the Xanax for longer than 4 days and see how you feel. If your symptoms haven't improved in a couple weeks up your dosage. My doctor told me it takes about 6 weeks for Zoloft to take full effect which is why he perscribed the Clonazapan for 6 weeks. Anyway, like I said everyone's case is different. If you are really concerned tell your doctor you'd like to try a lower dosage first or ask the doctor why he wants to start you on a high dosage. He may have a very good reason and it will make you feel better. Good luck!
