1st anxiety attack in months

Anxiety bites!!!! I keep a journal each day (yes, it's a diary for men :) ) and I rank my level of anxiety from 0 to 10, whereas 0 is awesome, 1 is daily anxiety (normal) and 8 is panic attack, 9 is severe panic attack, and 10 being health issues and/or passing out. Well, surprisingly, I had been at a 0 for most of 2 months now, even though I usually suffer from SAD. Today I was in a meeting at work and I got up to about a 6 and then I went home and on my way home I hit an 8! I just needed to share on here because it helps me some.

Thank you both. You both have been a big help since I have been a member. I love to try my best to help others like you all do. My attack may have been triggered by the fact that state funding for our company may hamper the development of the software that I have been working on. I hope I can cope with this in days to come.

You don't have to defend keeping a journal. It's a great idea for everybody who deals with anxiety/panic. We have trackers here that you may find of help.........check them out under "Health Tools" at the top of the page.

I think it's great that you've gone two months with zero anxiety! That's a vacation many here would kill for!
You probably know this, but anxiety can come and go in cycles throughout our lives. I'm not sure if all the triggers have been documented or not, but stress would probably be close to the top. Perhaps your meeting was more stressful than you thought? Was there a lot of prepartion for it? A lot riding on the outcome? Was there other stressful stuff going on in your life at the same time?
This is one very good reason to keep a journal. Many of us don't have triggers for anxiety or panic attacks, at least that we know of, but some people can feel themselves building up to one hours, even days before it hits.

You sound like you have a good handle on your anxiety and I'm glad you find it helpful to post here.
Please feel free to jump into a thread if you feel you can help someone.
Peace

As scary as this was, dwell on all the good days you've had, that's what is truly important.  You hit a bump in the road and that's okay, just keep moving forward.  Don't beat yourself up over this, I think you've done remarkably well!!!  Keep up the journaling, it's very therapeutic for all of us.  I hope you are feeling better and take care.
