A few questions about your anxiety?

A few questions about your anxiety?

Those of you who suffer from anxiety to a point where you have multiple "attacks", have you had them consistently and for long periods of time, perhaps most of your life? Or do you find that are suffering only comes around periodically, as in years time or maybe even decades?

I ask this because I'm trying to understand why I am suffering again and have been for the past month or two, when I haven't dealt with such a long bout in about 6 or so years. I went roughly 6 years or more without having any sort of consistent anxiety or panic.

Those of you who like to fight the disorder without medication, what do you do to help "forget" about your anxiety. Have you found any method of such a thing that has worked for you in the past?

The reason I ask this is because the first time.I had dealt with prolonged anxiety spells, I found that I eventually got over them on my own, without medication, I think this was because I simply "forgot" about it and sort of moved on with my life at some point, and I was able to keep it well under control for a most of those 6 or so years. I remember being plagued with day in and day out worry, anxiety, and panic related to my health, and then out of no where, I just wasn't suffering with it anymore. I want to be able to do that again. I want to know how I can forget the anxiety, and focus on my life again, without meds.

I am goin thru the exact same thing rite now but unfortunately for me i am on meds cus i jus cudnt deal with it anymore it was ruining my life and like you i was anxiety free for almost 12 years....i mean i had a panic attack maybe four times outta those 12 years but this time around was way worse then before, new symptoms too, plus im older and hormones change. My dr. and phyciatrist both have advised me these were panic attacks and anxiety but i didnt believe them cause my sypmtoms were so different this time around.I was sick for a good 3-4 months before i decided to try a new medicine but i was suffering so much i wanted to live again,i wanted my life back for me and my kids.Ya it took a good 7 mons from the start of all this to even start feeling better plus the side effects of the med but it has all been worth it.Im by all means not fixed but almost plus i have learned more about this disorder than i did wen i was 17 and diagnosed with this horrible disorder. If u can do it without meds i give u sooo much credit cus u have to b a very strong person and thats always a good thing with anxiety cus it feeds on negative and worried thoughts.I can tell u this from experience u not gonna go crazy or die from this u WILL get better.Be strong and best of luck .....if u ever have a question u can message me too and just remember this is all normal for anxiety and panic disorder. It can come n go and thats sumthin im dealing with now.Take Care : )
