Agoraphobia with panic disorder medication help please? EDITED

I had to stop taking Mirtazapine last night as the side-effects I was getting from it are apparently rare and will not go away. I have already taken Citalopram, Sertraline and Mirtazapine for my anxiety but didn't get on with them. I have a phone appointment with my GP this evening and would feel better knowing I had an idea what medication might work best for me. I don't want to take Prozac or anything that will make sick/vomit, dizzy or mimic other anxiety symptoms. I need something that is suitable for long-term consumption. I am receiving CBT by a psychotherapist but really need the added support of a good medication. I've done a lot of research on the available anti-anxiety medications but can't find anything myself that looks suitable. I have had a panic disorder with agoraphobia for over 4 years now and am twenty years old. I don't drink alcohol but I do smoke (about 10 cigarettes a day). As I have already mentioned I will speaking to my GP today, as good as he is I don't think he puts much effort into finding the right medication for me so I thought a suggestion from an anxiety expert would be a great help for me. Thank you in advance.

The other medications I take are:

Pizotifen 500 micrograms daily
Levocetirizine 5mg daily
Propranalol 10mg as required (on average two twice weekly)
Lorazepam 1mg as required (haven't actually taken any as yet)
Minocycline 100mg daily

Heya! I take Lexapro, it's an antidepressant... and I have almost ZERO side effects! I take it for anxiety! It's helps GREATLY! I'm not saying this is for you, but don't be scared to take something if it makes you feel better!

A psychologist is a great place to start too while on a med.

I noticed you havent tried the Lorazepam yet... I take that too when needed. And I take it at night. Makes me feel CHILLED OUT!!! =) I LOVE IT. LOL. Helps me sleep good too.

Don't take it EVERYDAY though. Only as needed. Your body will build a tolerance and it wont work.

Hope this helped. Keep an open mind. I have a feeling Anxiety is something you are going to BEAT one day!!! =)

they have medicines that help with agoraphobia. Research etrafon. It is an older med, but works good with few side effects.

While you are waiting for the dr to call get busy researching all these different aspects and drugs so you can have a good conversation with him/her. It will make you feel better.

You do have a right to be your own advocate, in fact you have to be in this day and age of medical care.

Are you seeing a therapist to discover why you have agoraphobia? And last but not least have you had your thyroid checked? If you have thyroid disease it, causes lots of mental issues.

All right now, you have your assignment for the day, should you choose to accept it. Go forth and conquer.

And keep us posted on your progress.
