As many of us know, medications are a big part of managing our anxiety and panic. And many have questions as well about natural remedies, supplements and related substances. Many of the answers you want can be found in the Medhelp Drug Database, so give it a try. Here's how:
At the top right of your screen is a "search box" that is labeled Search Medhelp in light gray text. Enter the drug or substance name in that box and click, "Go." Example: enter "Advil" or "ibuprofen" or "St. John's Wort."
A screen will appear. At the top are the various posts in which the name of the drug is mentioned. At the bottom, under the "Drugs" header you will see numerous links related to the drug you entered, including the drug itself. Click that link (or any others) and you will see very throrough information -in ordinary language- about the drug, including Uses, Side Effects, Precautions, Interactions and Overdose. If you try "aspirin," for example, the links include not just aspirin, but also many of the preparations which include aspirin, such as "Goody's Headache Powders."
As you can see, the database is good not just for anxiety medications, but ANY medication. So, if you come across an old bottle of pills in your medicine cabinet -look it up!
There obvioulsy is no substitute for personal experience gained other forum members, but the drug database can help you make sense of what you read and hear from others. Please try it and let us know on any improvements that might be made.
