Antidepressant for Anxiety

Has anyone actually found an antidepressant that has helped them with anxiety instead of benzodiazapines?

Hey, for me Paxil did the trick! It took awhile to kick in, but when it did, it worked great. I took 10mg for 6 months and then bumped it up to 20mg for another 6 months...currently on it still...trying to get off of it soon though...hope you find something that helps you.

Ditto!  Paxil pretty much helped with my anxiety which was why I was prescribed it by my Dr. But after 6 years it peetered out and I thought that I could stop and be fine, wrong.  After a month I was a wreck and I am not sure if my body was so used to the drug or I was really depressed.  I think it has its pros and cons, the side effects I had were: I put on a few pounds and it makes you emotionless and I had vivid dreams, but I did start a career which I don't think I would have started if it weren't for Paxil.  I can tell you Wellbutrin does NOT help GAD, don't let anyone tell you otherwise,  in fact it can make it worse.  So Good Luck to you, believe me I know how you feel and it can be debilitating thats for sure!
