Anxiety, PVC'S, Sleeping..Any Ideas???

by kane3, Jan 29, 2009 07:26PM
Ive been diagnosed with PVC's (premature ventricular contractions) 3 months ago, and as of today, I still dont know what is causing them. Ive had recent tests including a stress test, echocardiogram, ekg, chest x-ray, blood work, and holter moniter. All came back normal, minus the 2500+ PVC's captured. Im currently waiting for a event moniter, a EP study, sleep apnea test,  and a gastroenterology exam. But the one thing that has seemed to be consistant, is the Anxiety and Insomnia that comes with it. Im lucky if I can pull of a hour or two a night, and that leave's me having a ard time functioning during the day. Ive tried Ativan and Xanax, and both seem to relax me to a point, but contribute to having a harder time falling asleep. Im currently on Paxil (10mg), to help with the Anxiety, but Ive seem to be moving more fequently (hands, legs, feet), and having trouble sleeping on this also. My doc doesnt want to perscribe me anything till I have my sleep apnea test done, but Im really struggling with the sleep and dont knowif I can wait that long. So could these PVC's Ive been experiencing for several months now be linked to Anxiety and sleeping issues?? As of right now, I think so, since all tests so far have excluded anything serious out. Well, I'm hoping anyone can shed some light on my situation, and maybe can explain what you have been going through also. Thanks
