Anxiety & vomiting

OK I know, kind of a gross topic. I've been diagnosed with acute anxiety and have had issues with gagging including occasionally enough to make me throw up mildly [as in once and a small amount].

So here's my question. Had dinner Friday nite at wife's parents & on way home felt nauseous. & stomach ache [no anxiety whatsoever]. That nite starting at midnite I was up every hour 'til early morning throwing up until just clear liquid & really strong stomach cramps. It just so happens my wife felt fine and is blaming the hole episode on my anxiety issues, which does not make me real happy. I think the crab that tasted fishy or rare chicken had something to do with it and never been sick like that before [even following day my stomach hurt big time]. So does anyone out there there is was "sub-conscience" anxiety as wife wife is saying or that my anxiety is possibly progressing to another lever? I thought I had a good time at her parents until she started with all the remarks. I still believe 100% it was the food!

So glad to hear about the tummy bug.  I guess your wifes' illness was actually a blessing,  otherwise you may have actually become anxious believing that this was a new symptom of your anxiety.  Hope you are both feeling better and laughing about the whole thing.

Ok & thanks for both your comments. It looks as though I've been vindicated as the following day my wife got ill and was nauseous all day & sleeping. I hate to say it & I DO luv her, but after all her comments about anxiety I was never so happy to see someone not feeling well. 7-up & saltines today & we're both feeling quite a bit better & again I had no anxiety whatsoever before OR after throwing up [LOL!!]

I agree.  It was the food or a tummy bug.  You would have had other anxiety symptoms to go with the vomiting.

YEs

It was the food,

Anxiety in me always causes gagging, but in this case, it was food or a virus.  Forget it if you can.
