Anxiety and ADHD

I have always had somewhat severe anxiety, including severe social anxiety.  I was also diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and was prescribed Adderal XR. The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together.  This is working extraordinarily well.  The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.

Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time?  I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self.  If it is safe to combine both medications, what should I say to my doctor?

You really have to tell your doctor the truth that you are taking these medications together and the sooner you tell him the better.  Only the doctor can tell you the long term affects of medications and their various interactions.  Perhaps it's fine, I don't want to alarm you, but it's better he knows what you are doing.

Between a doctor and patient there has to be complete trust, tell him asap, he will understand and will appreciate how much better you feel also.  Trust him!

i have found that zanx work good for the anixety stop taking the adderal and tell you doctor to try you on zanx and the strattera but to tell you the thurth im 17 years old and i have had real bad adha when i was younger and at the age 10 i decide i could defeat the ADHD without meds and I have so whatever works best for you you can email me back at lilbit_47***@**** and we can chat somemore
