Actually ironic that you posted. I think I tighten my jaw and grind my teeth at night because of anxiety and today I've had a constant static sound in my head...when I talk it is almost like hearing it over a microphone...very weird.
Tighten your jaw and grinding your teeth..as you said Anxiety....if you're still having the constant static in your head...please get in touch with an ENT DR....Question ..how long has this been going on?....many Tinnitus people have this problem...i also join a group just for Tinnitus..Nick......also do you know if you lost any hearing?....
Today is the first time and it is because I've been freaked out with health anxiety for a couple of weeks now. I just noticed when I spoke this morning and the little cicada type hiss has been there...like a microphone turned on.

Top..i'm not an doctor...but please get to an ENT DR...As you had said it could be Anxiety, and i hope so ..its better then RINGING IN THE EARS...Nick...
Hi Nick, I think it's a good idea to just get everything checked out. It's also a good idea to educate yourself on Tinnitus. My son started getting the ringing in his ears about 7 years ago. We ran through all the tests, an MRI to see if there was a brain tumor (there wasn't), he got checked by an ENT specialist. Everything checked out. We don't know what started the ringing. However, we have learned that certain things can bring it on or make it worse, like caffeine, lack of sleep. Also, it's possible that the hearing has been damaged slightly by too loud of noises at one time or over an extended amount of time. I'm still learning too, but what interests me is how much our diet and sleep can be linked to things like this. In the meantime, you can mask the ringing noise by listening to soft music at night (when things are quiet the ringing seems louder) or a white noise like a fan. It helps my son. Hope this helps. Like I said, look up Tinnitus. I think there's a website that has good information, I just can't think of it right now. It's been awhile since we checked into all that. Well, I wish you the best.
Thank you for your reply April...yes i do have T....I use an hearing aid masker so i don't hear the ringing...yes you're right caffeine and lack of sleep.one of the problems with people that have tinnitus is lack of sleep..thats why we get anxiety and depression....i try not to use meds, but when i first got t..i use meds and then i had withdrawl problems ..you can't win LOL....Nick...
