Anxiety associated with PMDD

I'm 25 and have been suffering with anxiety since 2006. The only time i DID NOT have any anxiety symptoms was when i was pregnant with my son. The symptoms returned with my first menstrual cycle 10 weeks post partum. I currently take Prozac 10mg 1 daily in the morning (been on it for about 16 days) and i take .5 Klonopin once daily in the morning. I have been taking 1/2 that dose so .25 in the morning on the days that the anxiety is not bad....however starting yesterday the anxiety has gotten really bad. I took .5 yesterday and today. I also have a call in to my Psychiatrist to see if i can take more of this medication during the more difficult days. Anyone else suffer from anxiety like this?

OMG you're me except for me it's depression/rage. I highly think I have PMDD and yes anxiety is there too for it. And like you the only time I felt stable was being pregnant. I wish you luck. I'm on the road to finding help too because it's ruining my life.

My OB-GYN said if they could keep me pregnant, I'd be in good shape! No anxiety at all while preganant, just like you.  It's too soon for your Prozac to be effective. around 3 1/2 more weeks and you will feel the full benefit of it. Klonopin is normally prescribed 2 x a day, so your doctor will probably increase it.  Some of this may be your body adjusting to the Prozac as well.  Just be honest with him on how you are feeling, he'll know what to do.  Take care!
