Anxiety coming back. Please Help!

I started taking Zoloft about 7 weeks ago at 25mg a day, and within a week I was feeling great.  I had almost no side effects and started to feel like I could live my life again, then about a week ago it all came crashing down.  I am back to feeling anxious all the time with the dizziness and feeling like the walls are closing in on me.  Is it possible that I need to up the dose of my Zoloft? The doctor said that when I started it to start out small, but I feel awful and just want to get back to the way I was feeling for 6 weeks.  I have an appointment with the doctor, but not for another week, anyone have any suggestions to get me through until then.  I am having major anxiety at work right now and want to try to make it through work.

I was on Zoloft and it changed my life (for the good) but you said you are on 25mg per day? most people start 25mg per day for a week then up to 50mg, thats what I did and for the 3 years I was on it, I always stayed at 50mg per day. BUT ask your doctor, and please get back with us on how your doing

tooyoung..........you are on the minimum dose of Zoloft and more than likely need to increase that. Most people start out at 50mg and you can go as high as 200mg. If you felt real improvement for 6 weeks, then it's obvious that this med is effective for you, but not at your current dosage. NEVER alter your dose without first consulting with your doctor. NEVER! Call or see him as soon as possible if this is causing you problems at work. Be aware that even if he does increase your dose tomorrow, the effect of that increase won't be felt for approximately one week. It won't happen immediately.
Best of luck.

Scaredjo,
I know I don't need to tell you that drinking on these medications can be dangerous. Zoloft is no different. If you do decide to go out and have a few at the pub, then hold your dose until morning. I would double check this with your doctor or chemist to be on the safe side.
Take care g/f!

Tooyoung I agree with greenlydia ... I also was treated with zoloft for anxiety, panic attacks and OCD. I found that for me it worked very well. There is a good chance that you will need an increase ... however you should indeed talk to your Doc first, as there is always the possibility that this is not the right med for you.

Unfortunatley for disorders like ours there is no "quick" fix ... sometimes it is trial and error, as well as waiting and being patient, which can also be VERY difficult.

Good luck to you.
