Anxiety depression help

Hi there, I have posted before but still struggling.  I am 39 and started with unexplained anxiety and depression starting in nov of last year. No history of it.  Tried zoloft and didn't work well with side effects now have been on lexapro 10 mg for almost 8 weeks and feeling worse.  I am also taking klonopin .25 bid   Symptoms had gotten worse around period and I am going to naturopath. Had hormones tested and on natural progesterone, but nothing is helping.  My primary md keeps wanting me to up my klonopin but I am resistant to that.  I need some advice, I am so down because this has gone on so ongoing and I have a big trip planned soon that I can look forward too. This has been terrible and not sure what to do.  My primary doesn't want to change anything until I come back but I feel awful.

yes I have started therapy but it is hard because I don't really have a situational problem to work on,  I don't think the lexapro has ever worked well, the md does not want to up at this point until I come back from a long planned trip. I think he plans to take me off.   I have been on the progesterone for 3 months now and was hoping to have better results. I am really struggling with increasing the klonopin as well , I am so afraid of dependence even though I am on a low dose.  I feel so frusturated at this point.

Hey hon, I'm so sorry to hear you're still having such problems.

Wasn't there a point with the Lexapro when you started feeling a little bit better?  You're still on 10mg?  Have you talked to the doctor about perhaps needing a higher dose?  That's a possibility.  How about therapy?  Have you started any kind of therapy?  I think that would be beneficial.

I'm glad to hear that you've started addressing the cycle thing too.  You definitely have a marked increase in symptoms around your menses.  Hopefully the naturopath can offer you some suggestions to help with that, as with anything, that will take some time, and probably trial and error too, to see what works best.

I know it's frustrating as all get out, but hang in there and keep pushing forward.  You definitely have many options to explore, ways you can go about addressing this further.  It just takes time, which stinks.  We want to feel better ASAP!

Keep posting!
