Anxiety or heart problem??

Anxiety or heart problem??

I am 21yrs old female couple stones overweight but excerise 4times a week no heart disease in the family. Last october i went to hospital with chest pains and pains in my left arm they kept me in overnight and did ecg chest x ray and blood tests - all ok i also saw cardiologist for an echo also ok and he said my heart is fine and im too young for heart trouble. I have been to the hospital so many times thinking im having a heart attack since then have had at least 10 ecgs 3 chest xrays and 4 lots of blood work never any abnormalities and my doctor concluded its musculoskeletal related. I have seen my own doctor countless times and many others all of which say my hearts perfectly fine and its muscular/anxiety related. Heart/lungs always apparently sound perfect and BP and pulse always spot on for someone of my age.
Now this musculoskeletal ache has gone, i still get chest pains and have an almost constant ache in my left arm mainly from the inside of my elbow to my hand occaisonally with tingling fingers i also get jaw pain frequently (my dentist seems to think its a jaw problem)
Is it possible i have an undiagnosed heart complaint eg angina or impending heart attack that hasnt been picked up on? I have been left with terrible anxiety because of this. Could these pains be anything else other than cardiac related? I dont feel they get any worse with exertion i dont think i notice them at the gym or swimming. They are always in the left side of my body and are really starting to get me down. Anybody have any ideas or any advice for me? Can someone of my age have a heart problem causing these pains that has not been picked up on in any of the tests ive had? My doctors now say its definatly anxiety related can anxiety cause these pains even the ones in my jaw? I think i should be able to be assured that all the tests i have had mean my heart is fine? Anyone else experience anything similar but its just anxiety related?

Well, you did the right thing....get thoroughly checked out by the doctor first (and for you, countless times) and then trust that it is anxiety.  YES, anxiety can cause all your symptoms. It is amazing what our minds can do to us.  I have gotten tingles in my hands, tongue, face...all anxiety related...I have had chest discomfort...anxiety related....

Check out anxietycentre.com and go to symptoms that is on the left hand side of the homepage...I think it will help put your mind at ease...

If the anxiety continues to disrupt your life, you should seek a psychiatrist.  It will definitely help you!

Totally know how you feel. Its like you want to shout at all these experts and tell them they are lying you don't just have anxiety. You almost want them to find something wrong just so you feel less crazy. I am proud you have sought counseling. Good luck.

When I was your age, I had all those symptoms and what they did find out later was that I had blood clots in my lungs from taking the birth control pill. Don't panic because I wrote that, it's only what happened to me. That was many years ago and I am fine and now only take aspirin to control any blood clots. But it may be worthwhile checking out. (if you haven't already)
The doctors too were at a loss and couldn't figure out why I was having all the pain in my chest and left arm. It's best to get to the root of the problem because the anxiety can build up over the years and get ingrained into your mind and like mine, always pop up at the first sign of chest discomfort or arm pain, no matter how insignificant. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine.
