Anxiety or panic attack, terrible symptoms HELP!

by a_lil_stick, Aug 07, 2009 06:08AM
Yesterday morning I thought I had heart burn, so I went to the store and bought tums ect... well It wasn't helping my problem at all, as the day went by it got a lot worse for me. My chest was hurting on my right side near the arm pit...got worse, later it was like a cold feeling in my chest but it was like burning too and I could feel it straight through my back also. I was sitting there in the recliner and my vision went blurry just for a few secs, lightheaded, dizziness, So at this point thought I was having a heart attack so then I really began to panic, I'm taking ATIVAN 1 mg but I ran out 2 days before so im wondering if that was the reason. my family went and picked my medication up, so then I was better yesterday afternoon and this morning I'm great! Also, just at night RARELY does this happen but I think crazy things and start making myself think I see things, then here I go start to panic . Does anyone have this problem? Whats some of your symptoms? As long as I got my ativans this doesn't happen but when I don't have them it may or may not happen. This was the worst one, and I have only had like 3 before

Sounds like you don't want to run out of Ativan again!   It could have been rebound anxiety and some withdrawal symptoms mixed in there.   I would double check with your doc just in case in the future if this happens.  Heart attacks are nothing to play around with, so you don't want to assume it's not a cardiovascular problem in the future and think it is just anxiety.
