Hey there.....I've been experiencing the same symptoms for years now. Couldn't tell which caused which....sometimes it seems the nausea comes first, then the anxiety and vice versa. I've been on Lexapro and Xanax for almost a year and the nausea hasn't subsided. I'll gag a lot and then have diarrhea. It occurs after I eat, when I have anxiety and panic attacks and sometimes just seemingly out of the blue. I've had all the GI tests done, CT scans and the works and all they could come up with is IBS which commonly goes hand in hand with anxiety. Apparently IBS can also cause nausea but for me that still didn't really explain how to deal with it besides eating smaller meals and staying "regular".
If it's bad I take Promethazine (sp?) which can really help with the nausea but it makes you sleepy. I'll take it when I get a panic attack or feel nauseas before going to sleep. I've also found that Xanax (I take .5mg) can help relax your body and seems to help ward off the intense feeling like you need to throw up and have it exit the other end as well! I'm also starting Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which I'm a bit skeptical about but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Because of the anxiety and nausea I avoid eating which of course is not good so I'm hoping you're at least able to keep up an appetite! Good luck and let me know of anything you discover that helps!!

Yes, Anxiety can def. give you diarrhea. I get it all the time. It's probably b/c you have a nervous stomach, which thats what gives me diarrhea and lack of appetite.
