Hi, I suffer with bad anxiety. As of right now I can't stand the major that I'm in at college (psychology). It brings a lot of stress on me, and tbh it's not fun anymore. I have chosen to change my major to something were I KNOW I can handle/fun, which is journalism. I'm nervous to tell my family about the change that I'm doing in fear they will laugh or tell me that it's stupid, and to pick a more better major. My sister was in journalism, but didn't like it so she changed to social work. I'm scared to tell her about it the most, as she is VERY mean. She'll think I'm copying her. I don't know what to do, I'm nervous. I don't want to fail, the only people that might be okay with it is my mom and my grandmother. As of right now my Aunt is paying for me to go, but most of it is paid for by financial aid. But once I'm out of college my Aunt wants me to pay all the money back to her. PLEASE advice thanks!
It makes no sense to major in something you don't like, as that will lead to lower grades and make it even more difficult to find related work, work that considers your degree essential for the job. You need a good paying job if you are going to pay your aunt back for student loans.
I am not in the "know" but I think journalism will offer more employment potential than does psychology.
Stop worrying about what your sister will say, you are making decisions for you, not for her. She should not be making decisions for you.
