I should add that I am 23, 24 in Jan and a female. Also that when I was little I suffered from migraines and also had my heart checked out, because I had heart palpitations when I was very young, about 6 years old I believe. They said my heart was fine, that I had a slight murmur and that it didn't need to be treated. I've been medicated and diagnosed with depression and anxiety/chronic fatigue in the past. In high school was when I started taking Prozac (around 16 years old) but I hated it so I stopped taking it and eventually my therapist or councilor said I didn't need to come anymore so I figured it was over. My anxiety never really went away though it seems.
Oh okay thanks for the responses. I was also wondering if any of you ever have like a sharp pain in your heart? or right next to your left soldier or in your left soldier? I feel like I have a heart condition, but I have such awful anxiety that I can't really tell the symptoms apart sometimes. I don't want to go to the dr and have him tell me it's anxiety.
If you have any symptoms that could be the heart, then get it checked out. And don't quit until you're satisfied with the answers. The "anxiety" the doctors told me I had for the last 6 months turned out to be an 80% blockage in one of my coronary arteries. Don't let them dismiss everything as anxiety. But if it turns out to be an anxiety/panic disorder, then you'll know and can seek the appropriate help. Yeah, anxiety alone ***** just as much as heart disease sometimes.
Do you suffer from anxiety???? if so, this is def a symptom of anxiety! Feel better soon!
:)
Let me see if I can get these in order..
First: If you're panicing, you cant accurate judge your enviornment. Or you wouldnt be panicing. Keep this in mind when you think about odd feelings during extreme fear.
The odd feeling in your chest and the lump in your throat are the same problem: When youre panicing, it is very very easy for your stomach to bubble its way up your throat. I usually dont notice until the familiar acid burn shows up on the back of my throat.
That means it both passes near the heart, and that it triggered the vagus nerve: the one that goes across your heart and digestive system. The odd feeling is a combination of irritants, that overload your vagus nerve. This cant harm you or anything, and its never "numb" but it is a dulled sensation to be sure.
I get that sort of problem pretty much daily. Its scary but I think it wouldve killed me by now. Anxiety's kinda a jerk.
Also, my palms are very sweaty.
