Anxiety problems what should I do


I have anxiety and paranoia problems. It depends on the situation but I get anixety alot, it's mostly in social situations or when I am in a uncomfortable situation. Also I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and that has made me afraid to go out in public, and made my anxiety and paranoia bretty bad. When my anxiety kicks in I start having "butterflys" in my stomach and I start mildly panicing, trembling uncontrollably, and I feel tense. It feels absolutely awful. How do I get rid of this? Is there anyway on how I can calm down in these situations?

Suggest you talk to your Doc. about your anxiety. We all differ in what works for us. For me it's meds.activity & support from family/friends/this site. Breathing control/Yoga/Meditation/listening to music you like, or doing whatever pleases you. Relaxation techniques learned from someone that knows what it's all about will almost certainly help you to remain calm. Boost your confidence in ways you have used in past? Others will help to support you on site for sure. Good Luck.

I suggest you take these issues to your doctor(s). When you have a real physical challenge like IBS and add in some psycological problems like social anxiety disorder and paranoia which you say often leads to panic, it's time to get pro-active in your own physical and mental health.
I suggest you get the gastroenterologist who is managing your IBS to refer you to a competent psychologist and begin dealing with the anxiety issues.
To answer your original question........yes, there ARE ways for you to calm down in these situations. There is a great deal of help for your situation out there.........but it's not going to come knocking on your door. You can get your life back with a little effort on your part and it will be so worth it.
