Anxiety problems

What is a good med for anxiety?  This is causing me lots of problems.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I would recommend Klonopin but like I said in my above post it doesn't seem to work for me in very stressful situations.

For a quick fix, the medication is xanax.  It alleviates anxiety symptoms quickly, but it is not a medication that is to be used everyday...Klonopin would be the medication that can be taken every day, twice a day, if you need a long term drug.  Talk to your doctor about these alternatives.

I have taken cipralex, (is that called Klonopin in the US?) and it seems to work for me - sometimes i will take a little ativan before bed, and that gives me a good sleep!  I gained some weight with it - which it didn't like - but my choice was feel mentally awful or chubby - not good options -  but i'd rather feel chubby!
I've tried paxil - and it was awful!  Couldn't get past the 2or3 days - i was flying higher than a kite! Never again for me.
you have to try a few to see what works for you, unfortunately it sometimes takes days to know - although with the paxil i knew right away!

i talk to my dr about klonopin and she told me its just like ativan so they dont like to give it everyday says you will get used to it and need more after awhile and you will have to wean off of it . is this true . wheres ryan he will know .

thanks ryan for the two drug differences. am so much better my anxiety was just because i was having momnents at home , i never went on a every day pill ,and mine it slowey going away. i did take abot 5 ativans in a 30 day peried, most of the time i would and will fight it off. it wore me out and ive lost 15 pds from it , i will keep in mine the klonopin, next time maybe i just go on it for month untill i get over it the fighting it will kill you and stress everyone around you . ryan are you on klonopin to you know so much about it and how long have you been on it , and is this a drug you take take for years if need be. thanks again your great . barbara
