Anxiety symptoms confused with STD´s symptoms?

by bigerror, Nov 06, 2009 06:23PM
Hi to all, recently I posted on the STD´s forum because three days ago I had protected oral sex with a sex worker in my car, i didn´t took the condom out until i reach my home (like 10-15 minutes), checked the condom (no holes or anything strange) and took a shower. That night i couldn´t sleep becasue i was feeling very guilty thinking of my girlfriend. In the morning (7 hours after oral sex) I started to feel very strange sensations in my genital area, like burning and little pain when I urinate. I also started to feel a pain in the back of my legs. Today (3 days after the oral sex) i still have this symptoms. People in the STD´s forums told that my risk was nule becasue I used protection and that may be this sympotms are related to anxiety for feeling guilty and fear and that I should post my questions in this forum. Can sombebody tell me if this symptoms can be just from anxiety?  I really need some advice.

Hello there,

I approve the respond you got from the STD's forum. Anxiety can cause a lot of symptoms and especially where you focus your mind. Since you feel guilty and think about STD all the time maybe your mind may be playing tricks on you. Have you ever heard of psychosomatic pains? I think it might applies to you. You must free your mind of what you have done and what should be done if you wanna see any improvement.

Anyway please not that i'm not a doctor and it is a good idea to get tested to STDs and consult a doctor. If you see your situation getting worse then it might be a good idea to also consult a therapist.

Best regards,
M4

Your encounter was protected, therefore, you have nothing to worry about in regards to std's.    You are likely having guilt issues due to your indiscretion, and anxiety causing your perceived "symptoms".  Try to come to terms with what you did and address the anxiety, I'm willing to bet that will solve all of your problems.

Having protected sex with a condom gives up to 98% protection not 100%, so therefore with this in mind i personally would go have some tests done.  U may have a simple urine infection that has nothing to do with this encounter but even so if u do have a urine infection it's best to get a course of anti-biotics to clear this up and at the same time u can get a full check up to clear ur own mind.

This may also be the jolt of reality you need to address ur issues with your girlfriend and stop u from cheating again...i hope so for your girlfriends sake....good luck
