Any info on EFFEXXOR greatly appreciated..good or bad

Went on Lexapro 7 days just awful, awful, awful........the doctor has now put me on Effexxor and I am reluctant to say the least. I now just take 1/2  (of a 0.25) Xanax and it puts me right for the day. I don't take it all the time, maybe every other day. She wants me to take somethingelse though. Any advice good or bad appreciated.

I am sorry that you had problems with Lexapro.  For the first month or so, I had some negative side effects as I started an SSRI like Lexapro.  In fact, whenever I start, increase, or decrease dosage, there is an adjustment period.  The good thing, however, is that they subside substantially once I reached the 'target' dosage for what I was taking.  Remember, that these do not work immediately and in fact they actually put me more on edge for a little while, but are great in the long term in my opinion.  Keep us posted!

All anti depressants or anti anxiety medications work differently for different people. If one med makes my condition worse, that same med may save other persons life.

You can only try it and see with the SUPERVISION of your doctor because effexor shouldn't be mixed with some other meds.

PS. I take effexor for anxiety and I give it 3 out of 5
