Anyone else feel this?

Hey everyone.  I just had a quick question.  Recently I've been having this sensation around my heart that feels like a little vibration kind of or like a constant humming sensation around my heart and it really worries me.  I was just wondering if anyone else gets this and if this is a common symptom of anxiety or if it could be something else.  It just feels like there is a slight vibration in the whole left pec area.  Thank you for any feedback.

I'm sorry to be an intrusion or bother  but I'm in sever need of an opinion I'm 17..........Has anyone experienced the sensation in  a way that you can feel your arms like vibrate/tremble? I swear it seems to move up and down my body and sometimes I can feel it in my head when I lay down at night. I have this feeling almost like my heart is beating in my stomach it'll just move like a rapid twitch but feels like my heartbeat.  I also get a prickly/tingling feeling in my hands and legs and I almost feel like my hand is weak or something. These syprs have happening  for a week followed by 2 weeks of waking up lightheaded, having eye problem, sleeping for long periods and still feeling tired and having that last all day. Lightheadedness has gone but now this is scaring me. I'm really terrified could anyone say if they experienced the same thing??? I've been tested for a thyroid problem, anemia, viruses, and a couple of other things everything came back normal. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks it may be a sign of MS my mom and her aunt both have it. Please someone help! I'm terrified I may have something terminable or even ALS..maybe I'm overthinking(I have bad anxiety) but I know my body and something wrong please someone anyone help I've been searching for answers and no one can seem to find any. All I find are old forums ...,,My dr doesn't know what to he won't call my house back......I know u guys aren't doctors but I can't find anyone willing to take time to try help me make sense of this

I just turned 81, have high BP, Asthma, Diabetes, etc. I have been experiencing these left side of my chest (near my heart) vibrations off and on for over 1 year. I ask my Dr. about this he had a chest x-ray  taken, blood  tests, EKG, and cannot find any heart disease. He tells me he never heard of this before, and he is 60 years old, in practice for over 30 years. I get worried about this sensation, but that doesn't help or stop it. I believe it might be anxiety on my part. I hope you can get your stress under control as that may be of help.

I get the vibration thing to!  It started 7 years ago and at first it would feel like a wave of vibration through my heart.  Over the years it progressed to a vibration that surrounded my entire heart, completely internal, and would scare the hell out of me.  At this point I get vibrations anywhere INSIDE my body cavity.  I feel the same feeling in my hands, forearms, feet, and calves on a daily basis now.  In the beginning I was like tanns and only felt this sensation at rest, but now it happens anytime.  My face will tingle whenever I get a flush from anxiety.  It is so disturbing.  When I had my cardio work up 2 years ago I didn't have the symptom for the month I wore the event recorder (of course) and therefore the doctor was unable to ease my mind concerning this.  I am currently in the process of another cardio work up, but it's with a free clinic and will be a long time before I get any answers.  My old GP, my cardo, and many ER docs have told me it's all anxiety, but I'm sure you know how hard it is to accept this diagnosis when the syptoms are so severe and disturbing.

I hope you are feeling better today, and take comfort in knowing that you're not alone.

I have also had all the necessary (and then some) tests concerning the heart.  I have had a vibration thing that happens and I've actually had 3 days without it recently (knock on wood)!  I would SWEAR it is my heart but all my tests have been normal.  I also have worn an event monitor and had the vibration thing happen, the monitor didn't pick up anything.  Nothing cardiac related.  I was stunned.  The vibration thing usually happens at night and will wake me up, I don't think it happens during the day but I may be just too busy to notice it.   I also have felt a humming sensation.  I used to say it felt like someone flipped a switch and a low motor had started.  I hate this feeling.

I am concerned about my heart but I know that all the tests have been normal.  It drives me crazy because these lingering weird feelings won't go away.  I've never had health anxiety before and I am still reluctant to say the "anxiety" word because whatever this weirdness is, it comes AFTER the weirdness/discomfort/sensations in my left chest area.

Oh yeah, one last thing.  My cardio told me one time that you won't feel any vibrations coming from your heart if your heart is "vibrating".  It won't feel like a shaking on the outside of your chest because it has too much to go through before it reaches the surface and that acts like a buffer.  You have to do through the lungs, ribs, muscle and skin and a vibration would be down to zero by then.  I don't know if was just trying to ease my mind or if this is actually true but I thought I'd pass it on.

Good luck.

Hey buddy -

Typically when you find yourself here at this forum the cause of whatever physical issue your having is somehow realted to anxiety. You already answered my first question which would have been if you took the appropriate steps to get yourself checked out. If all of the tests came back clear than you need to do one of two things. Trust in our current medical science and move forward with working on your anxiety or get retested and a second opinion.

Have you had different medical concerns throughout your life?

If it helps to talk things through on here than that's what we're all here for. To help each other. You're going to be just fine.

The best thing to do then, is just try and relax - I know easier said than done! Give it a couple of days and if it doesnt go away then go to the doc. I have also wasted so much money for silly things at the doc's. But it does seem to put your mind at ease.Maybe you can rent a couple of comedy films or take a walk or something to get your mind off of it. Best of luck!!

I've had all the tests as well I just get scared because I constantly worry about my heart.  It's just weird because it doesn't feel like the muscle, it feels like it comes from the sac around the heart or something, if this is even possible.  But if I sit back and try to figure it out it is more prevalent.  But I think it's anxiety I just like to know for sure.  I've been known to make the ER visit and before I keep wasting money I'd like to be sure first.

It could just be anxiety. Or it could be your muscle. Or I guess there is a chance that it could be your heart. I get a fluttering senstation around the same area once in awhile. It seems to come and go. SOmetimes it is constant and lasts for a few days and then gone for awhile. I cant tell if it is my heart or a muscle spasm. For me, I have had all of the heart tests not that long ago, so I am pretty sure it is just my anxiety. If you havent had this checked before, maybe you should give the doc a call. It is better to be safe than sorry. There is a god chance that it is just anxiety, but when the symptoms involve the heart, I always get it checked. You can never be too careful!! Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted!!
