But...Is the depression, agitation and mood swings normal when first starting Klononpin? I am so glad I found this site. Anxiety is very scary and panic attacks are even scarier. It's nice to know that I am not the only one. Although I feel bad and pray for each and everyone on here that does experience this. Also do you know if you can take the xanax if a panic attack comes on while taking the Klonopin?
I wish I had an easy answer for you. I am not a doctor so really, I don't know. The Klonopin is supposed to act like the Xanax. Your mood swings may be just from finding everything out and starting meds. When I was diagnosed ADD, I was told I will go through the grieving process because all my life something was wrong and I didn't know what it was. You may (or may not) need to go through the same process. I defiantly went off my antidepressants when I would feel better, then crash. It took me a long time to accept myself as I am and be ok with the possibility that I very well could be on antidepressants the rest of my life.
Talk to your doctor. If they get defensive because you are asking questions, find a new doctor!
