Anyone have any experience with Celexa?

Well...it's time to get out of the bed, out of the house, and back to a normal life.  Went to a psychiatrist today, and long story short, he put me on 40mg of celexa (20mg first week, 40mg thereafter).

I've heard it's comparable to lexapro, which has gotten good reviews.  Anything I should be on the look out for?  Anyone have any experience with celexa...if so, how'd it work for you?

Thanks for the input Anthony.  So far I haven't had any jaw clenching type symptoms.  I just took my second pill today.  He's got me taking a half tablet for 4 days, and if there are no side effects moving up from there to a full pill (40mg).  The worst effect I felt was I felt a bit jittery, and the insomnia was terrible.  I wasn't able to fall asleep until after 5am.  He said that those symptoms occur in about 10% of patients, and should start to subside as my body adjusts to taking the drug.  I've heard celexa is very similar to lexapro, and I've heard good things about lexapro.

As for klonopin...is that an SSRI?

i too am on 40 mg of celexa since oct and saw my specialist yesterday and we discussed my problem with the med is jaw clenching! I also suffer with migraines so jaw clenching and migraines not a good mix! I also take 05 mg klonopin with clexa in the morning and I feel the klonopin helps more than the celexa with anxiety. that being said I am slowly weaning off the celexa very slowly and see if the klonopin will be enough. the jaw clenching especially at night is not fun. We are all different and hope it works for u!

I myself didnt do well on it. I gained about 10lbs and found that I felt horrible on it. I was tired and spaced and my anxiety was still there full force. I have been tried on a huge array of medications and only had success with a few so dont let one persons experience concern you. I really hope it works good for you and you can get your life back
