Yes, unfortunately I suffered for too many years w/ the same thing before I received treatment for anxiety. From my experience, going to the ER accomplishes nothing regarding treatment for anxiety, depression, or panic attacks, imo.
Do yourself a huge favor, go see a doctor as soon as you can, describe your experiences, and ask for help. The process is relatively simple, and you will probably be surprised at how much of a relief it is to be able to speak w/ a doctor (mental health professional). Due to my own fear and ignorance about anxiety, I put off seeking help for so long because I was afraid of being judged (one of my many reasons for not going sooner). I've tried both medication and therapy; they can make a positive difference in your life, but it isn't instantaneous. It takes a little time and definitely some personal work to get on track, but it is certainly worth the effort. When it comes to medication and therapy, everyone is a little different ~ over time you'll figure out what works best for you...
So, the good news is: there is help out there :) Make an appointment to speak with a doctor soon.
