Anyone know if the Linden Method is any good ?

Hi everyone, as most of you know, when looking for solutions to beating anxiety, one thing that always comes up online is the Linden Method. Has anyone ever purchased this program ? If so, did it work for you ? I found a promo for his method on youtube. He seems pretty sincere ... he says the only way to totally beat anxiety is to reprogram your Amygdala ... the part of your brain which controls "emotional reaction". It seems worth a try, but I want some "real life" testimonials, not sales hype. Please respond with good or bad reviews. Thanks.

I'm so glad you asked this question.  I have been wondering the same thing and because of my small fortune in medical bills due to this anxiety and my determination to find a "real" illness, it is too much money for me.

I initially had an "out of the blue" panic attack (multiple ones) one night about a year ago.  I think because I was so positive it was a heart attack because I never, EVER had any form of panic, anxiety or fear before that time, I "triggered" the switch in the constant "on" position.  His website looks great but I've not read or heard anything about the program or people who have used it.

I'm going to a psychologist for the first time next week and I was going to ask her about it too.  (Who knows what she'll say since it means I wouldn't be going to her!!)

Thanks for asking the question, I hadn't thought about posting it here.

I actually read about it awhile ago when I initially had the anxiety attack ... I left it alone thinking it was probably a bag of "hot air" Anyway, I am reconsidering it even though I feel I am getting better on my own. There might be something in his method that will help me complete the process of recovery. I really hope you get better.

Never heard of it before!  However...if someone has purchased it. PLEASE let us all know if it works!  I will try anything!!

I have just invested into this program. It is a  10 day(two weeks) program. I will be as honest as I can be on my progress. I have briefly reviewed its content but don’t want to jump ahead of any of its instruction. It is a method practiced 1 day at a time. It was expensive but as it states it has a one hundred percent hassle free  refund.. I don’t want to depend on it so I am hoping the best.

Peace... God Bless... Edward D.

The best to you Edward.  Please let us know how it works.  May God grant you peace of mind.

Thanks for responding Edward. I am the one who started this post. I am really interested in seeing how this method works for you. Please let us know. Start a new thread so it's at the top. I myself have been feeling so much better that many of my anxiety symptoms have subsided tremendously. My "self talk" has changed dramatically. Good luck and if the system works for you I'll probably invest in it myself.

Yes, it is. I bought it in 2003, and although I do have occasional setbacks, the Linden Method folder is always there to help me out. What I like about it is that in it, Charles Linden recounts his nightmarish history with anxiety, plus he offers a list of classic and not-so-classic symptoms that are valuable to a Hypochondriac like myself – I look at the list and go, "oh, I've got that", which helps when I think I'm going to die for the thousandth time. I've also tried his breathing exercises and distraction techniques with great success. His site explains everything else the Method offers, including a refund if you're not satisfied.

Hi, I'm the one who started this post ... I am really curious to some the specifics of his method. You mentioned distraction techniques. What are some of them ? Also, what is the core of his teachings ? What does he say is the main way you cure anxiety / According to his website he feels his method is the only way to totally get rid of anxiety. Please share any knowledge you have. Thank you so much Coffecup.

I am curious about the techniques too.

Do any of you have UNKNOWN causes for anxiety?  My initial panic attack almost 15 months ago has had me on a year long quest for answers.  I truly have no known trigger, cause or source of this craziness.  Nothing particular starts it.   I would like to think that I'm harboring something that once it comes out I'll be "cured".  But it's just not there.  I don't have any stresses, none that are any different from 3, 4 or even 10 years ago anyway.

After a small fortune in medical bills, this Linden Method material shouldn't be a big deal.  I just hate to throw money away.

By the way Edward, if you are still here, I wish you the best with it as well.

Thanks for listening!!!

To: Any one seeking answers on linden method
The linden method is a packages that is designed to help you recover from anxiety/panick/PTS/ETC.... the list goes on.. You have a number of steps you must follow in order to see some progress. It can not be explained, it is to be experienced. all of the questions you have can be answered by visiting the web site at..http://www.panic-anxiety.com/.. The method has worked wonders for myself. I have peace of mind. It was hard at first but I perservered. The great thing about the method is they have 24 hour support team that you can call or email if you have any questions or need an open ear. I do a lot of the exercises still to this day. they are RELAXING and help me have a great nights sleep (something I thought I would never have again when I was suffering from the anxiety!) I thank Charles the founder of the linden method sooo much for giving me a new out look on life :) Try the method .. you have nothing to lose , it is guaranteed or your money back . It's a little over a  100 bucks , but think about how much you have spent in doctor bills already!? The buck stops here! REMEMBER perservere! Dont give up, everyone recovers at different rates so.. just have faith and you will be well again!!

To: Anyone interested in Linden method.
I think you'll find the trick to reprogramming the Amygdala lies in positive image visualisations in the 'alpha state'.(dream state).
If you purchase Robert Handly's book on "Anxiety & Panic Attacks" , which is practically free of charge in comparison to the Linden package, then you get an idea of what it's all about.
It takes alot of practice and isn't an overnight miracle as many would have you believe...but it can work.

I ordered the linden method and i got cheated. no one answeres a phone to help. save your money and order the lucinda basset program.

by suzi-q, Nov 14, 2007 06:19AM
I also purchased the Linden Method....didn't do much for me, but I feel that I didn't use the program to the full effects.  Don't have the time with a 2 year old at home!

Thank Edward D..

I just purchased the program, after researching the other methods out there. I think which program works best really depends on our individual situations. If you commit to a program, you have to go in wanting it to work and trust that it will. So far the Linden Method is working well for me. I'm working on day 4 and it offers some good relaxation tips as well. Best wishes to everyone. I know panic attacks can be so frightening, but just remember you're not the only one! :)

I used his program. I have to say it helped me just to understand what I had and better understand this insanity I was feeling. The package is over a 100 page book mainly on his life. He really suffered and does have some anger towards his family and doctors, maybe rightly so.
He uses a 9 pillar method which you must follow to a tee.
He did help me alot but his method is more geared to someone like him and everyone knows each one of us experiences Anxiety differently.  He was on heavy medications for years but I was hardly on any medication for a short period of time. Every time I had a question on this I got a response of someone who was on heavy medication.
He is also heavy into Eastern Methods like Tai Chi, Mediation and other things. This sometimes did not settle well with me. That just my preference.
If you get the method it will help you but it could push you to the limit. If you have more questions please just email me. thanks

Well, I got this Generalise Anxiety Disorder like some of you. After much research and talks with doctors, the outcome is - If your Amygdala is calm for 4 to 6 weeks, it will switch back from "active" mode to "normal" mode and anxiety is CURED.

But to maintain this calm state, we cannot "worry, fear, think-negative, grew angry, quarrel". And everyone worries or fears a different thing...

SO you see, may not need to buy the Linden Method and try the above...it works for me, at least I 'm near to recovery...

Hopefully...
