I agree with heartflutters... I can distinguish between anxiety and panic, though they're certainly related, the symptoms are quite different.  The panic can strike unexpectedly and hits hard and fast.  Mine usually starts with a flush feeling, dizziness, and a feeling that I might pass out... which really sets my heart racing!  I've rushed to the emergency room before.  Even knowing it's a panic attack.  And when I get there... they always tell my my heart rate, blood pressure, etc. are perfectly normal.  Funny.

My 'anxiety' symptoms can come on slowly and last much longer.  It's hard to describe, since it's a real physical feeling, not a fear or worry as some relate it.  I feel like my body is in a vice grip... as if pressure is building up and I'll simply explode if it's not released.  I'm not talking about 'losing it' mentally, because that's not the case at all.  I'm afraid the tension will keep building until I can no longer take it.  Sometimes I'll wait several hours as this builds before taking my klonopin... and if it's bad... I'll pop two or three pills.

I've found from reading this forum that that's not the best way to take klonopin.  I've started taking it on regular intervals twice a day and for the past week my stress attacks have almost disappeared.  Both panic and anxiety.
