I took to Ativan in the ER last Tuesday when I rushed myself there thinking I was dying. At the end of their tests which all came back fine, they gave me 2 Ativan although I had taken a Klonopin a few hours before. What are your symptoms? I have recently been switched from Prozac to Zoloft. Tomorrow, I take my full dose of Zoloft (50 mg) and I was switched from Klonopin to Valium. My panic attacks went away for several years, but a couple of weeks ago, they came back and now that's all I think about is when my next panic attack is going to come so they keep coming. I have to look up Zolpidem. Never heard of it.
Thank you for your comments here. I recently moved to new country and they don't have zolpidem, sleeping tablet here, which believe it or not, helps me in a night panic attack. What they have given me here is zopiclon which does not work at all. I want to stop either xanax or ativan, but not sure which to stop, and trail the other off. I read someone else on this board is scared of eating when her throat feels like a lump in it, I am the same, scared I'll choke. It is the most horrible feeling and one of total helplessness. I can't even get a decent job because I keep getting these attacks daily. If I work alone I am fine, in a crowd, I get panic attacks. My doctor in my home country sent me 3 months supply of zolpidem, but customs rejected it. People need to know panic attacks are a real thing, it's not brought on by oneself, as my partner says, oh! get over them, it's easy.
Good luck,
Karen
