Ativan to klonopin

I have been on ativan since may 09,,recently went up to 3 1/2 mg a day....for months i have had excessive dizziness and its getting worse....so I called my dr to see if i can try klonopin aagain( i have a script from March 09) she said she thought if i lowered the ativan i might not be as dizzy but i told her my anxiety is worse so she said i could try the klonopin but she couldnt give me a script because i just got the ativan filled 2 weeks ago and she cant do a script for both   which i think is a lie (i was on xanax and klonopin before and the dr i had then wrote me scrips) anyways she never told me how often to take the ativan while im doing the klon,,,im assuming i need a taper off the ativan and if my dizziness gets better she will give me a script..the klonopin is ,5 and my ativan is 1 mg.....any ideas would help me out,,,thanks Oh i was on the diet pill phentermine for 20 days i stopped it yesterday and due to my anxniety im thinking it damaged my heart is that even possible and will i have withdrawal from it i was on a 1/2 of a 37.5 pill

My brother takes both ativan and 0.5 mg of klonopin. It is generally not good to mix benzos but some doctor's allow it.

Klonopin can make you dizzy as well.

My suggestion is that you call your doctor, make an appointment and talk face to face and see why s/he can't allow the prescription. Then ask your doc if you should return the rest of the ativan to the pharmacy (for disposal) and get klonopin instead.

Also keep in mind that 0.5 mg of klonopin is not as strong as 3.5 mg of ativan. But like I said talk to your doctor. they know better.
