Ativan to xanax Can one make you feel worse

Hi,I was switched froma tivan to xanax around nov 13 i knida at first switched back and fourth trying to see which made me better and on dec 4 dr took the ativan away from me and put me on xanax 1 mg 3 times a day too strong so i took 0/5 3 to4 times a day since then i feel so depressed and no emotions Would xanax cause that i had been put on depakote and blmaed the feeling son it but stopped it after 14 days and still feeling this way i was a bit depressed on the ativan but nothing like this i feel like im dying,,,,,i thought the ativan was causing some dizziness so she swwitced me i had been on ativan since aug.08 I have been on benzos for 18 years mostly xanax and i used to feel pretty good on it but im life less and my dr is new to me and actulayy a nurse practioner i just wondder if xanax makes anyone else more depressed than ativan..im hoping to get switched back to ativan

I heard that Xanax can cause that, but my question to you is why arent you on a longer lasting benzo? If you have been on benzos for the most part 18 years, you could probably benefit more from a longer lasting benzo

I was on ativan 1mg in the morning 1mg at lunch and 1mg at dinner and 2mg at bed time, also on doxepin  at bed time,  I was on ativan  for 11 years never got high off them just sleep well, I have very bad panic attack where I pass out with them so, I started having them again very bad and my DR, now give me Xanax xr 3 times aday I'm scard of meds but have done well on the xanax xr because it stay in my body all the day just like ativan did; but xanax will make you high ativan just relexes you but I will see this week if xanax is better,,right now not sure but it does help my panic attacks,,so you all may want to ask your DR, about xanax xr because it stays in you at all times..
