I just had some blood work done when I went in for severe anxiety, panic attacks and depression. I was told today that my blood work doesn't look too bad but I need to come back in. Maybe they will tell me I have a b 12 deficency. I was drinking pretty heavily for awhile and I think that depletes b 12

The pill nexium over time will deplete ur body of b vitamins and cause u too have anxiety and panic attacks. the nexium pill does not allow you to get the right amounts in ur system because it gets rid of what you need to keep the good stuff in u. dont get me wrong nexium works great for acid reflux but down the road it gets u somewhere else:(

Mia- I am sorry, I didnt mean it is all in one vitamin. I will take two seperate pills- one B-complex(make sure each B-vitamin has a different dose- dont get the one with the same level), along with a 1000mg pill- fish oil. This is what my doc suggested. Often- I was diagnosed with PMDD- which greatly increases my anxiety- the last two weeks of my cycle. By taking the B-complex it really has taken  a lot of the edge away. I am hoping with the fish oil- it will help even more. Hearts- there are so many b-vitamins- I believe they all work together. So the B-12 might need more, so taking a supp is a good idea. With the fish oil- I have a combo pill that contains omega 3 and 6. I am planning on starting that next week. I am getting my period this week, so I want to start at the beginning of my cycle. Just remember, I am not a doctor, but my doc did give me a lot of advice on natural supplements. She also suggested taking Selenium. I want to start the fish oils first, for about a month, and then start the selenium. I dont like starting too many things at once, because then I wont know side effects or benefits from the different pills. I wouldnt know which one was making me feel better. Best of luck to all of you!! If you have any more questions, please ask!!

were do you get a fish oil w/bcomplex?  i would love to try that - especially if it would help w/anxiety.  I use vit's and wasn't aware that fish oil's were useful for anxiety.  That is great info.

I find this interesting...B-complex with C has long been suggested to peri- and menopausal women to help with mood swings...and many peri-menopausal women present anxiety as one of their first symptoms.  Never thought of it for anxiety, tho.

I take B-complex- each B vitamin is at a different level. I was told this was the best way to take it. When they are all the same dose, they do not work as well together. Maybe you should try that and see how you feel. It really takes the edge off for me. I am also going to start taking fish oil next week with the B complex. I have been reading up on that, and there is a chance that could help with anxiety as well. Plus, it has so many other benefits for the rest of your body. Best of luck to you!!!

I just saw your post and maybe B50 would be better, with folic acid - the B100 may be too much for you and too much can make some people edgy. (i know it does this to my husband)

Your body can store enough b12 for 4-5 years. If you are that lacking it is not because of not eating well for 8 wks. You most likely have a malabsorption issue of some kind with this. Possible pernicious(sp?) anemia - your body needs a cofactor to absorb this giant molecule (b12) and if your body for some reason starts destroying the cofactor then you cannot absorb the b12. The doctor can do a blood test to check for the antibodies to see if this is the case or not. A shot every week is not unusual when your body is soooo devoid of the vitamin. I have been getting shots on a weekly basis on/off since April. You may also experience forgetfullness and brain-fog with this condition. Good luck and think positive!  For more information check out medlineplus.gov and the MayoClinic website.

Hi,

I just want to let you know that the B-vitamins help with anxiety and depression. This could make your anxiety worse if you dont have any. I have been taking the B-complex for almost 3weeks now. I already feel a difference!!! I am not kidding. I feel calmer and not nearly as nervous or anxious as  I was. I have an appt along with bloodwork in a couple of weeks. I am wondering what the blood test will show. I have never had my B's checked. Anyway, I have a friend who had to be on B-12 shots. They told her it was the birth control pill that robbed her body of the B's. I am on the pill, so I am sure that doesnt help. But the B-complex sure helps! Best of luck and keep us posted!!!
