I had been off Zoloft for a year and a week ago I had that "lumpLumps in the breasts in the throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture feeling" that I had years ago which means you have anxiety (or per my Doctor anyway). I took Zoloft for four days and I had every adverse reactionAllergic reactions Allergic reactions to medication Dermatitis, reaction to tinea Drug allergies Febrile/cold agglutinins Insect bite reaction - close-up Intradermal allergy test reactions Positive reaction to allergen Transfusion reaction you can imagine, the doctor took me off it and put me on Ativan, which I took for a night and made me feel just as bad. I still have a strange feeling like I am in a dream and when I am standing perfectly straight I feel like I am swaying slightly when I am not, it is just a wierd sensation. I was wondering how long I will feel like this and if anyone else has had the same reastion as me after going back on Zoloft, even though I took it in the past and had not side effects at all. I have also read that anxiety and depression can mean you are Magnesium deficient, mind you the two times I have been to the doctor in the last week, they did not ask about my diet at all. I do not have health insurance right now, so I want to our local place for those without insurance. I hope to get insurance this week and to go to a doctor that hopefully knows more and does not push a pill in my face automatically.
Magnesium deficiency is common in the US because we've been talked into taking so much calcium, which leaches magnesium out of the body if it's in excess, and because we don't eat enough fresh vegetables, especially greens. You're more likely to suffer muscle cramps or heart problems or bone density problems than full blown anxiety or depression, but it could happen. Easy enough to find out -- take a 1:1 magnesium to calcium citrate supplement (regular amount would be 2:1 calcium to magnesium) and see if it helps. Solaray makes a good one. And if you want someone who understands diet, don't see a doctor, see a holistic nutritionist. If you want to discuss natural remedies, see a naturopath. If you want to discuss medication, see a psychiatrist, not a pcp. And for therapy, see a psychologist. To each their specialty.
Kind of feels like your center of balance in your head is all mess up right?
Does your head also feel kind of heavy and do you feel a little nausious?
That's more depression than it is anxiety or panic dissorder. It will take a good antidepressant to correct that.
I must say it is very odd that you were able to take Zoloft for 4 years with no problem, but now it makes you sick.
I find that Effexor or a tri-cyclic such as Nortriptilyne works best for the symptoms you listed.
Just my 19 years of experience with the exact same symptoms you described.
