Benzo or not? Anyone?

Long story short I took Klonopin .25mg once a day and lexapro once a day 10mg for about 2 months.

I weaned off both mess over a 2 week period.

The reason, is bc I didn't want to be on a benzo I had to take everyday.

My dr put me back on Ativan (lorazepam) .5mg to take when needed.

After my last dose of Klonopin and lexapro I felt a little strange an anxiety was kinda creepin up, so about a day or two with no drugs.. I realized I wasn't sleeping very well at all at night bc I was getting night anxiety. So I took an Ativan every other night for about a week. Now this week I've take one every night except the past 2 nights I cut them in half...

Not that I have to wean but I like too.

Anyway my issue is this...

Ever since stopping the Klonopin I've been having sinitus issues. I'm not congested. But I've been having terrible head pressure, nose and eye pressure, dizziness, and a sore neck and even teeth.

But here's the strange thing... I thought I'd do an experiment

Bc my dr said I'm just having allergies/sinus issues.

But tonight it was bad. I took a hot steamy shower... Took ibuprofen,... Been taking zyrtec for about a week (no luck)

But tonight I thought I'd take a while Ativan a .5mg

Guess what? My pressure almost left completely for about an hour or 2... My neck still hurts but pressure is gone!

Do you think this could be benzo withdrawal?

If so... This explains ALOT of other issues in the past my dr told me was anxiety an to take an Ativan... And it helped those symptoms...

Sometimes I just wonder... All those issues I had in the past like diarrhea for 3 months... Unvulintary gag reflex, could those all be benzo withdrawal?

I used to take Ativan on and off for over a period of 2.5 years!

It would blow my mind if I could have possibly been just experiencing withdrawal symptoms and not knowing it... And the dr just says take a benzo??? Hmmmm....

I'm gonna SLOWLY wean off this Ativan for a bit...

Then see how I do without it. It may be masking Klonopin withdrawal? Or I dunno maybe Klonopin was masking Ativan withdrawal? Bc I stopped Ativan after 2.5 years then switched directly to Klonopin for 2 months without weaning off my last Ativan kick.

I usually don't take Ativan any longer than 2-4 weeks at a time. Then I can go without it for a month or so, as long as I'm not having anxiety really bad.

Hmmm... Lots to think about. It just blows my
Mind that this awful head and eye pressure that I've had straight for 2 weeks now stopped periodically after taking an Ativan. But ibuprofen or zyrtec won't touch it... But Ativan does? I'm thinking benzo withdrawal possibly?

Don't think it's withdrawal. Especially not withdrawal from Klonopin. I only took that for 2 months. Ativan ive only been back on for 2 weeks or so. But already weaning from that. Feeling much better. I think it's all just sinuses bc I have barely any pressure now. And my sinuses started draining yesterday.

It could possibly be withdrawal symptoms. I've been taking Xanax for over 2 years and I the only way I can stop is to go into rehab because of the severe withdrawal symptoms I get, throwing up, dizziness, headaches, body aches, insomnia, convulsions etc. I had a lot of symptoms each time I went through withdrawals so you could possibly be experiencing them since you were on klonopin for so long and then just switched to ativan but the question is, which one could you be withdrawing from? I would see my Doctor and tell them everything that you are going through/feeling and see what they say. Benzos are a bad group of drugs and I wish I had never started taking them because they're almost impossible to stop taking. Lots of luck to you!

Or damn... Maybe it is just sinus/allergies? Lol. And I'm just reading too far into it?
