Best anti depressant

Im wondering what you guys believe to be the best anti depressant for anxiety/ depression? I know they work on everyone different but I just want to see what you all say because I have been on Cymbalta for a while and I do not know if its working fully.

You're going to get a lot of different answers to this one.  I've only ever been on one, Celexa (also called Citalopram)...and have taken some Ativan, too.  The Celexa worked wonders for me and my health anxiety - I took it for a year in tandem with therapy sessions and I was able to wean off of it under the guidance of my doctor.

It sounds as though you recognize that everyone is different and that not all meds are created equal for everyone, so it's really impossible to say which one is "best".

I agree with the above post, what has worked great for one of us, has not for another.  If after 4-6 weeks on the Cymbalta you aren't feeling any better, contact your doctor and let him know this, you made need an increase in your dosage.  They normally start you out on a low dose and go from there, and needing an increase is normal.  Work closely with your doctor with your meds anytime you feel they aren't working or you develop other symptoms.  I wish you all the best and take care!
