Quick question.  Do anxiety meds dull/slow your brain function.

Sometimes a happy medium can be taking the right supplements, like GABA, tryptophan, calcium, magnesium and vitamin b. There are ways to "fill in the gaps" in brain nutrition without needing to take some of the mind-dulling meds (can you tell i'm anti-medication?). Medication is right for some people, but I don't trust it. You should check out this supplement called Tranquilene (www.tranquilene.com). That's what I take, along with some vitamin C.

Thank you for your responses.   I'm just trying figure out whether or not I should continue with cognitive therapy and or start taking anxiety meds.  I am taking a lot of difficult classes right now in college cause I'm in my last year of undergrad, (pre-med) and I need my brain functioning at full capacity lol.  I basically have a lot going on and I don't want to be in a haze 24/7 because of my anxiety problem.  I will discuss this with my doctor and try to stop researching negative side effects of anti anxiety medication.  I tend to over analyze things...

Yes, depending on what you've been prescribed. As 'mammo' said, you have to follow up with your GP.

Yes they can, and you may want to discuss this with your prescribing doctor.
