Yes, stress can certainly cause chest pain. Has something been bothering you lately or did something stressful happen recently? Sometimes you may think something is not bothering you but it is lurking in the back of your mind.
If this was a one-time event, then great but if you start to feel like this everyday, then it is time to seek professional help to get to the bottom of what is causing the anxiety and how to manage it either with CBT or medication.

Absolutely! A panic attack with chest pains feels very much like a heart attack- it's scary and traumatic. I was diagnosed with anxiety after exactly the same situation you describe. I haven't had chest pains since I started treatment for my anxiety.
