Hi, I use to take Klonapin which is like xanax and I use proventilProventil Proventil hfa. I never had a problem with it, but if you're worried you should ask your Dr. or pharmacist.
Should you notice excessive stimulation/nervousness following a dosage of Proventil, I would recommend switching to its isomer, XopeneX. XopeneX is a more selective agent with far fewer reports of anxiety/nervousness/jitteriness/palpitations, etc.

There are no contraindications between the two. However, it should be borne in mind that Albuterol (Proventil) is a sympathomimetic amine and beta-adrenergic agonist. It does possess prominent stimulating properties on the central nervous system (it is comparable in effect to adrenaline), and hence, may temporarily decrease the efficacy of Xanax and other Benzodiazepines by overriding their effects.
