Can't eat in public when nervous?

Hi. I'm 18 years old, male, and have had anxiety issues for around 13 months now :(

The anxiety has gotten slightly better, but it's still there enough to make me feel unhappy.

But, I've got a quick question. Most of the lessons at college are mainly in the afternoon, so I have to buy lunch and then go to the lesson. The college I go to is in a city centre (so near shops), I seem to feel fine when I'm walking along from the bus stop to a shop or somewhere I can get lunch from.

The only thing is, I can not seem to eat lunch in public before I go to college. I have to hide away on my own - usually I go to some coach park where there aren't many people, or I sit on a bench in a big fieldy park area nearby.

However, once college is over, I can eat in public quite normally.

Why is it like this though? I do always feel sick or light headed before college so do you think it's because I'm worried I am going to be ill in front of others? (i have a fear of that).

I keep telling myself everything is okay - which it turns out to be, no one is bullying me or anything like that at college so I have nothing to worry about, and if I were ill in public, i'd just go home, but I do worry for some reason.

Sounds like you answered your own question;you might be afraid of getting sick in front of others,it could also subconsiously even though you tell yourself it will be ok still be an issue for you.Anxiety doesnt always make sense....
