Can't stop worrying

I am a 29 year old mother of two.  I am well aware that I am probably more anxious than most people, but I do not take any medications and I am usually able to calm myself down when I start worrying about something.  All of my symptoms started about 6 years ago when I was in graduate school.  I occasionally have this feeling where I feel like I am falling and I have to catch myself.  At times, it seems to be aggravated by head or eye movement.  I have also been diagnosed with ocular migraines.  During my first pregnancy I began to have flashing lights in one eye that would last about an hour and then go away.  This has happened a total of 6 times in the past 5 years.  I have been to an opthamologist and everything checked out fine with my eyes.  I was referred to a neurologist who did no testing and told me they were ocular migraines, even though I don't have a headache with the eye symptoms.  I occasionally have feelings that there are bugs crawling on different parts of my body, especially my back.  It is not a painful senstation, just annoying.  I also have occasional muscle spasms in various parts of my body (eye, stomach, arm, neck).  Last week, the whole right side of my face, tongue, arm, and leg began to tingle.  I went to the ER where they did some bloodwork and a CT without contrast, told me they had no idea (that it was probably a migraine) and sent me home with a prescription for pain medication which I have no intention of using. The tingling lasted about 24 hours.  I also have feelings of pressure in my head at the top especially directly in the top of my head.  I have horrible posture and spend a lot of time looking at a computer and writing with my head down at work.  I also sometimes feel distracted and say the wrong word or sound when I am talking.  Of course, after I began googling my symptoms I started worrying about MS.  I have an appointment with a neurologist next week, but I just wanted to hear from others about how their MS symptoms started.  Does this sound like MS, anxiety, migraine related or a nerve problem related to posture and overuse? I should also add that I frequently have heart palpitations and have had 2 stress echos and worn a 24 hour monitor twice, which all seemed to be normal. Thanks so much for your time!

From what I have learned, this sounds more like anxiety than MS.  I have had many strange symptoms and had many tests including brain and c-spine MRI  that were normal and Doc says no MS. My symptoms can come and go throughout the day, and change often, too.  I seem to get over one symptom, and then another one comes along.  (just letting you know in case you experience this, as I have read it happens to others, too.)  I have never been Dx. with anxiety before, and don't feel anxious most of the time, just sometimes over health issues.  It's hard for me to understand!  I think I may have had the ocular migraines, too, for years, happening a few times a year.  I get what I guess would be called an aura that lasts for maybe half an hour.  If you search your symptoms on this forum, you'll find a lot of people in the same boat.  Good luck!!

I am not a doctor, but it doesn't sound like MS to me.  I was checked for MS because I had a lot of your symptoms.  Turned out it was Gad that started with panic attacks.  I know it seems impossible that anxiety can cause these symptoms, but it can.  I would think fibromyalgia more than MS.  You don't display the weakness or the foot pain, MS can bring. Sensitivity can sometimes be attributed to Fibromyagia. Fibromyalgia can go hand in hand with anxiety and is treated with many of the same meds.  I doubt you have Fibro or MS, but it's always good to rule out physical problems first, to set your mind at ease.  Good luck with the Neurologist.  I'm sure you will get positive answers.

I have anxiety and i get alot of weird symptoms that dont even make sense to the drs. they just look at me like i am crazy and blow it off. over the years they have seemed to go away but at times they randomly pop up. in the beginning i have this sensitivity on the top my head. it hurt to touch, brush my hair or anything. i told the drs and they thought it was weird but didnt say much.. it went away after a few months to a yr. had an MRI done and everything.. everything was normal.. if your concerned its MS talk to your dr and see if he can do an MRI for you. I really cant answer the question all i can say is from experience anxiety does a whole lot of weird things to you. lol. and it can let your mind play tricks.
